Our new home office + home schooling everyday takes time, organization, strategy, emotional intelligence. Some of us try to find time to exercise, cook, clean, wash, date. Is there any time left for our friends?

What about those who don’t have children or even a partner? Physical and social distancing can affect our mental health. Many feel lonely and in need for a hug and a chat. Internet is a useful tool for keeping up with our friends or making new friends. Here’s more about making friends in Norway https://makingnorwaymyhome.com/?s=how+to+make+friends+in+norway

Corona quarantine challenges us to be creative and positive. There can be many ways to show our affection and be there in a way.

Sweet surprise

Yesterday, the door bell rang. Who can it be? I doubt that someone will pay a visit in those Corona times. Charity? Lottery? Mistake? Much better! It was a friend of mine who had a cute gift bag with my Book Club kit.

In Norway, almost everybody is a member of a club. Knitting Club, Beer Club, Wine Club. I have my Book Club. We should meet last week but had to cancel because of the quarantine. So we decided to do it online, like the business meetings, but only this time Prosecco was invited. My sweet friend Anita drove around and delivered to each one of us a super cute party kit. Our online party was great! I mean, it was cozy and fun to see and hear all of them, even though the atmosphere was not the same.

Flags and smiles

Last weekend, a friend of ours had to cancel his birthday party, but many of his friends showed up outside his house, holding flags and singing.

Active together

It’s quite funny to go for a walk with a friend and keep 2 meters distance from each other and from other people as well. I wasn’t sure if dogs count. Yes, here in Norway we can go for a walk as long as we follow the Corona rules. Norwegian culture values fresh air and I totally agree. It does make a difference. And you, how have you been catching up with your friends? I’d love to read your story. 🙂

  1. Love Your post! Friends are so precious that we have to charish them and take care of them even in these times. Some might feel more lonely than before. Rembemer, it is not always easy to let others know how you feel internally, so reaching out, being social and at the same time getting the fresh air you mentioned is so good for the well being of all. If there are small children in the family and little extra TIME, a Virtual chat is great too. Keep sharing these good tips Amiga! I am so glad I have you!
