Christmas is time to get together and share love. This year, though, many families can’t get together. Many feel lonely. However, there’s always something we can do to feel closer to our beloved ones. Be that by sending a gift, by sendind cozy and warm messages.

In Norway, the famous advent calendar is a cozy way to show your beloved ones that you care. It makes the countdown to Christmas Eve fun. To make it easier and much more personal, we can write cute notes, each one in an envelope, so that the person will open one per day. I have been doing that and my husband loves to come and open his gifts. I love to see the smile on his face every day.

You can display the small envelopes as a wreath.

Here are my 10 inspirational tips for you. Fill in the blanks yourself, or let the person do the job. 🙂

When it comes to buying gifts, some popular in Norway that I recommend:

1.Scented candles. It’s cold and dark in the Winter. Theycreate a cozy atmosphere and activates our senses.

2.Heated blanket. I got my blanket as a Christmas gift from my sister-in-law when i was pregnant. I love it! I always feel cold in the Winter. It is my company to read, watch films.

3.Matching Family Pajamas. I first saw that we can be in our Christmas pajamas the whole Christmas Day in the movie Bad Moms 2. Since then I have done it every year. Also on January 1st. You know that Moose is typical in Norway.

4. Apple airpods. If you (like me) are used to watching Livestream on Instagram you know how cool and useful airpods are. I confess they are on my wish list.

5. Children’s Book: My Mom Is Not From Here. If you have foreign parents or relatives, this book is for your family. It’s written by a Brazilian mom that lives in the U.S.A. It’s a wonderful way to get our children used to having a parent from another country, the differences and wonders.

6. Christmas socks for kids. Last Christmas, I bought them to my nieces and sent them to Poland. It was a success.

7. Cute Coffee Mug. I love mugs and I have a collection. I bought a Xmas matching pair of mugs for my husband and me.

8. Coffee Machine. Seriously, in this cold Winter, coffee is a must in Scandinavia. Check my post about Norwegians and coffee here.

9. Light Therapy Lamp. It has saved me this Winter so far. UV Free. Safe and recommended by my doctor. I feel much more energy during the day after using the light for ten minutes in the morning.
