From April 20th it’s allowed to travel to the cabins again. At first, I was against going to the cabin. It’s not really necessary, is it? We could have waited a little more, but then there would be no more snow. We went anyway. I admit I was reluctant.
Once we got here, a peaceful sensation was all over me. The sound of the river, the blue sky, the soft snow, they took me immediately to a better place. April is a special month regarding the ski conditions and temperature. In Norway, each month is completely different from the other and the weather plays an important role in our lives.
I finally get it. Spending time in the nature is like a prayer, reaching the Nirvana, or something else that makes you feel good, depending on your lifestyle and beliefs. 😊 The feel good sensation and relaxing effect are precious specially in serious and stressful situations like the Corona virus’. https://makingnorwaymyhome.com/cabin-culture-in-norway-skal-du-pa-hytte/

The more I experience this Norwegian cabin culture, the better I understand and agree with the “cabin people”.
The health minister said during a press conference that the Norwegians like to feel their muscles working and heart beating fast when hiking up a mountain and the great feeling of reaching the top. Also the fresh air when coming down, though the legs are shaking, the feeling of accomplishment is indescribable.
Today, I went Cross country skiing for 8 km. I mean doing some activity in the nature, be that meditation, swimming, hiking, always respecting your body limits. I must say that I agree with his description. After such a marvelous experience in the nature, I feel peaceful and prepared for the school reopening on Monday.

That’s why once again I repeat: it’s important to know Norwegians’ culture before we judge them.
Building a bridge between Norwegians and immigrants is one of my passions. ❤️ If you like this post, please share it. 😉☀️
