🍁It’s the school break in the Fall.
Many families travel to the mountains or visit their families in other cities.

🍁In Stavanger, høstferien will take place from October 11th on.

🍁One week free from school.
SFO is open all day so the kids have this opportunity to spend the day at school and have several activities.

🍁It happens on different weeks in Stavanger and Oslo. It’s different from region to region according to the potatoes getting ripe.

🍁History: It began as Potato Holidays. Children would take a break from school to help their parents pick up the potatoes that time of the year. The name was changed to Fall Holidays in the 80’s. Nowadays the children are no longer part of the work at farms, but the holidays remain.

🍁Norwegian families usually go to the cabin, in the mountains and enjoy nature and quiet time. Some, though, try to catch last glimpse of Summer, heading to South of Europe, like Spain. And you, where would you like to go on the Fall break?

🍁É uma semana de feriado escolar no outono.
As escolas não tem aulas, mas o integral fica aberto com atividades lúdicas.

🍁História : Começou como Feriado das Batatas. As crianças faziam uma pausa na escola para ajudar os pais a pegar as batatas naquela época do ano. O nome foi alterado para Feriado de Outono nos anos 80. Hoje os filhos não fazem mais parte do trabalho nas fazendas, mas as férias continuam.

🍁Aqui em Stavanger, o feriado de outono será na semana do dia 11 de outubro.

🍁Muitas famílias viajam para seus chalés na montanha ou para visitar parentes. Alguns querem pegar o restinho de verão no sul da Europa, como Espanha.
